VOLUNTEERS from across Tickhill have joined together to clean up their community.

Residents and councillors teamed up to spend an afternoon in the sun picking up dumped carrier bags, crisp packets and cans around the pavilion area in Tithes Lane and in places that needed a bit of a spring clean.

Some of those taking part in the regular clean up operation were volunteer Tony Martin, pavilion caretaker Beth White and Councillor Nigel Cannings,

The litter pick took place ahead of the town’s jubilee celebrations, which had a number of family friendly outdoor activities to mark the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.
