More than £11,000 has been raised to support a charity’s work with older people in Rotherham.
A golf day held in aid of Age UK Rotherham at Lindrick Golf Club last month collected £11,252 for the charity.
Chris Rivington, chairman of trustees, said: “We know that many thousands of older people in Rotherham are affected by this issue and that it affects their physical and mental health and well being, their ability to stay living independently and their quality of life.
“We have given a commitment to increase the number of people we support each year by increasing the number of volunteers offering this support. This means we have to generate more money to support the development and co-ordination of the service and we have re-doubled our fundraising efforts.”
