STUNNING India Butler is through to the grand final of Miss Teen Great Britain 2011.

The 16-year-old, from Unstone, Dronfield, saw off hundreds of other teenagers from across the country.

India, a pupil at Henry Fanshawe School, took part in qualifying rounds, and was named Miss Teen Derbyshire 2011 Despite stiff competition, she was picked for the grand final at the Blackpool Globe on September 25.

India said: “I am so excited to have made it to the final. It is a great achievement, as there were so many gorgeous semi-finalists. Making it to the grand final has been a dream come true.

“Fingers crossed I will be do my home town proud and win the Miss Teen Great Britain crown!”

India is starting a new term at school, going into the sixth form to study A Levels in performing arts, Spanish, English literature and psychology.

She scooped 10 GCSEs, including an A* in drama, an A in performing arts, a B grade in Spanish and seven Cs.

India has an eye on a career in musical theatre and would like to go to drama college - but now she is thinking about modelling.

“I’ve never done anything like this before, no modelling at all, so it’s been a great experience,” she said.

“I just applied online and then forgot about it, but then they asked me to take part.

“My friends want to come to the final but because it is on a Sunday they are worried about school the next day.”

The winner of the final will walk away with £1000 cash, clothes and make-up.

The final is over a weekend, with the competitors taking part in a pageantry competition, day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a pyjama party at the Imperial Hotel, before the winners are announced.
