A Doncaster Leisure Trust is celebrating a record number of swimmers visiting the Trust’s venues this summer.
More than 77,000 swimmers visited Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust’s (DCLT) swimming facilities across Doncaster, including The Dome, Adwick Leisure Centre, Askern Leisure Centre and Edlington Leisure Centre, over the school holidays.
Head of Leisure at DCLT, Kraig Kelly said: “Swimming is one of the most important skills a person can learn and I am delighted that so many customers have visited our venues this summer and enjoyed the sport.
“The outside swimming area at the Dome has been particularly popular during the school holidays – with young and old making the most of the sunshine and outdoor facilities.”
He added: “Our Passport to Summer promotion and our great value splash sessions have been very popular this year and we have had excellent feedback from our customers.
“As a Trust we are particularly proactive with regards to raising awareness of the benefits of swimming, water safety and how important it is to learn how to swim.
“This year’s bumper figures are particularly pleasing as it indicates an increase in the number of people from across Doncaster and the South Yorkshire region engaging in exercise – which is a great thing for the Borough and beyond.”
DCLT offers a vast range of Swimming sessions and activities to suit ages and abilities, including lane swimming, family sessions, fun sessions and pool-based fitness classes.
