The first celebrities to join the hugely popular Strictly Come Dancing 2012 UK Live Tour have just been announced - Australian acting and singing superstar Jason Donovan, feisty property lawyer and entrepreneur Nancy Dell’Olio and actress Chelsee Healey. Kate Thornton will return as the host of the live show.

Alongside the exciting celebrity line up, the judging panel will feature Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, who is also directing the arena tour for the second year running.

The multi-million pound show, now in its fifth consecutive year, opens at the Birmingham NIA on January 20, 2012 before going on to visit some of the biggest entertainment venues in the UK, including Cardiff International Arena for the very first time.

Nancy Dell’Olio said: “I am really excited to be part of the tour. I enjoyed every moment of my time on the show and it is great I now get to continue with my new found passion.”

Jason Donovan added: “I have been overwhelmed with the support I have had so far on the show and I have really enjoyed dancing every week. Learning so many different dances has been an amazing experience and I can’t wait to see the new routines we’ll be performing on the tour.”

Whilst Chelsee Healey said: ”I am so thrilled to be part of the Strictly Tour, the TV show has been more fun than I ever could have imagined and I can’t wait to carry on dancing every week.”

Tickets for the 2012 tour went on sale in September and have been selling fast ever since. Over the last four years the tour has sold more than 1.3 MILLION tickets. On tour Strictly fans get to watch their favourite dancing couples compete live for votes and the all important feedback of the TV judges. The audience members can then vote themselves via their mobile phone. Arena audiences will get to experience all of Strictly’s glitz, glamour and breathtaking choreography, right in front of their very eyes.

The 2011 tour received rave reviews in the national newspapers - the Sunday Express asked “Does it get much better? Not often” and awarded the show a 5 Star review. The Daily Telegraph’s 4 Star review described the tour as “the ultimate feel good show”. And the Mail on Sunday’s 4 star review said that “the audience adored every second”.

This year’s BBC1 series began on September 30, and has already seen Edwina Currie, Rory Bremner, Dan Lobb, Nancy Dell’Olio and Lulu voted off the show, which has been receiving TV audiences in the region of 11.5 million viewers. The television format, also known as Dancing with the Stars, entered the Guinness Book of World Records two years ago as the world’s most successful reality television show and has been sold by BBC Worldwide to over 35 international broadcasters. Last year’s final saw more than 14 million people tune in to see Kara Tointon raise the Strictly glitterball!
