Preparations for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning are going full steam ahead with 550 Doncaster residents already signed up for the event.

The figure is up on last year in which a record-breaking £60,000 was raised in the borough.

This year fundraisers are hoping to smash that target and raise a whopping £75,000.

The event takes place on Friday, September 27, and the Free Press is urging readers to sign up.

Macmillan’s fundraising manager for Doncaster, Amy Hebdon said: “One of the great things about this event is that it’s such good fun, it gives people a great sense of achievement and is very flexible. Every pound raised will help us fund our vital services”.
