Spring clean for park

RESIDENTS in Swinton are being urged to come forward to help give a public park a spring clean.

Bow Broom Recreation Ground on Queen Street is getting a spring clean on Wednesday, May 9, between 10am to 1pm and Rotherham Council’s Green Spaces Officers are asking conservation crazy residents to help them.

Green Spaces Officer Donna Morton said: “We’re needing people who care about the environment to give us a couple of hours to give this much loved piece of the borough a face lift.

“All ages are welcome, all we ask is you wear suitable footwear and clothing. All gloves and tools will be provided.

“Bow Broom Recreation Ground is a well-used green space and these tidy-up sessions help to build community spirit, allow people to make new friends, do their bit for the environment and ensure their local area is safe, green and attractive.

“These sessions, as surprising as it might sound, are always good fun and there’s a great atmosphere. Fingers crossed for a great turn out.”

Children aged under 16 must be supervised by an adult.
