Special event aims to help older people in Rotherham be more healthy

More than 80 people have attended an event in Rotherham to mark national older people’s day.

The event was held at Rotherham Leisure Complex and organised by Older Peoples Forum, Places for People Leisure and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s Active Always team.

It was aimed at promoting social and healthy lifestyles for older people in the town, with the event including exercises classes such as t’ai chi and a tea dance.

Barbara Booton, from the forum, said: “This has been our biggest event yet.”
