SLIDESHOW: Fun and games across the Dearne for Comic Relief
A day of wacky fun and games saw students across the Dearne raise vital funds for Comic Relief.
Youngsters at Wath Comprehensive School took part in a mass flash mob dance routine.
About 700 pupils gathered on the school tennis courts to dance along to a medley of songs, including Michael Jackson’s Thriller. They also staged a cake sale and held various bucket collections, raising an estimated £3,000.
Learning support centre manager Nichola Laite, 41, who helped arrange the fundraising activities, said: “We are astounded with how much we have raised. We had a lot of fun and it was a great effort by everyone.”
Students at Dearne Valley College also showed off their best moves in a Harlem Shake dance-a-thon which helped to raise more than £600.
