It’s one big team

SPORTY youngsters from across the Dearne took part in an event at Goldthorpe, as part of the Team Barnsley initiative.

Team Barnsley brings kids from different schools together for sport activities, to help develop leadership and team working skills.

Last week, it was the turn of the Dearne ALC to host an event, and they welcomed pupils from High View and Kings Oak primary learning centres at Wombwell, Sandhill Primary from Great Houghton, Bolton Highgate Primary and from a bit further afield, the Wakefield Independent School.

A Dearne ALC spokeswoman said: “All the pupils were from years three and four, and had a great day doing relays and team working together”.

Team Barnsley co-ordinator Darren Padgett ran the sessions with help from school staff.
