Saving pledge leaves charity sky high

SAVERS from Doncaster are being urged to save lives by supporting high-flying paramedics.

Yorkshire Building Society has launched two bond schemes which will raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Each year the building society, which has a branch in Printing Office Street, will donate one per cent of the average monthly balances in the accounts to the charity.

The firm has already donated over £400,000 through its Barnsley Building Society arm.

Paul Gowland, director of fundraising at Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: “It is key that we are able to offer imaginative and exciting ways to create sustainable income streams for the charity.”
