PEOPLE with a passion for wildlife are being given the chance to volunteer at a nature reserve near Wombwell.

The RSPB Old Moor wetlands centre are offering volunteer visitor officer internships for anyone who wants a visitor related job in conservation.

The role will involve welcoming visitors to the nature reserve, helping with guided walks, running events and working with the community to inspire people about nature.

Beki Williams, visitor officer intern, said: “It really is an experience I have gained a lot from and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about a career in conservation.”

Training will be provided and there will also be networking opportunities and on the job mentoring.

The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday, January 16.
