POLICE are appealing for information after a 34-year-old Rotherham man died in a two-vehicle collision on Friday night.
The smash at Chapeltown Road, Ecclesfield, took place shortly after 7pm.
A blue and white double decker bus was on the A6135 Chapeltown Road, travelling from Chapeltown towards Ecclesfield on its correct side of the A6135. The 34-year-old man was driving a white Nissan Micra and moving in the opposite direction.
When the vehicles were about 50 metres from the Ecclesfield side of the junction with Crakehall Road, the Micra crossed the carriageway into path of bus and collided front offside to front offside.
The driver from Rotherham suffered multiple injuries and died at the scene.
The 63-year-old man driving the bus was from Sheffield and was not reported as injured.
