UP and coming Aussie stand-up comic Steve Hughes has announced a New Year date at The Dome.

Following sell-out shows at the Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne Comedy Festival, and stellar performances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC One) and Stand-Up For The Week (CH4), inimitable Australian comic Steve Hughes will be embarking on his long awaited debut solo tour in 2012. The show, entitled ‘Big Issues’, takes in 42 dates and starts on January 27 at Cambridge – The Junction and culminating on March 30 at the Salford Lowry. He arrives at The Dome on February 10.

One of the most exciting and distinctive comedians on the UK circuit, Steve has been invited to perform at every major comedy festival in the world and recently joined Reginald D Hunter as a special guest on his mammoth nationwide tour – taking in over 80 venues playing to tens of thousands of people nationwide (Throughout 2010 and 2011) and gaining legions of extra fans along the way.

Expect intelligent, thought-provoking, straight-talking social commentary from one of the finest and most original performers to grace the UK circuit. A former heavy metal drummer, Steve quickly made a name for himself on the comedy circuit as an erudite, philosophical, highly opinionated and provocative performer – a paradoxical blend of laid-back charm and acute caustic anti-establishment humour.
