A murder investigation has been launched after a 37-year-old who was attacked outside a McDonald's died in hospital days after the assault.
Family man Graham Bell died at Leeds General Infirmary on Wednesday after receiving serious head injuries in Kirkgate, Huddersfield, in the early hours of Sunday.
Youths aged 15 and 16 had previously been arrested on suspicion of assault, and were subsequently bailed pending further inquiries.
West Yorkshire Police appealed for anyone in the area of Kirkgate and John William Street areas around midnight into Sunday and who saw the victim or the assault outside McDonald's to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Bryar, who is leading the investigation, said: "We have now launched a murder investigation following Mr Bell's death, and I am continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident."
