CHILDREN at a Balby primary school have set up their own radio station, and their first interviewee was an MP.

Pupils from Balby Central Primary School in Littlemoor Lane, were given the chance to quiz Rosie Winterton, the Doncaster Central MP as part of a broadcast for their own radio station Ultimate FM.

The station is broadcast on the school’s website and gave the pupils a chance to learn about parliament as a group are going down for a visit to Westminster on May 3.

Miss Winterton said: “It’s fantastic to be able to answer questions from young people and have the opportunity to tell them first-hand about my role as their MP.

“The radio station at Balby Central Primary is a brilliant initiative and a great way to open up school events to the whole community.”
