A Doncaster based charity set up to preserve war heroes’ graves has been given a Royal seal of approval by Prince Charles.
Gary Stapleton, the founder of the Nether Hall Road based Victoria Cross Trust, met the Prince of Wales at the first ever Confederation of Service Charities meeting in London.
The trust was one of a small number of confederation members to meet Prince Charles.
He spoke with the trust about the work it does and the challenges it faces when raising funds.
Mr Stapleton said: “It was a real honour and pleasure to meet His Royal Highness. He was keen to find out more about the Trust as he already knew quite a bit about us and the work we do.
“The work the Victoria Cross Trust carries out is vital in order to preserve the memory of our military heroes. To know we have the support of His Royal Highness is fantastic.”
