A DEARNE Valley call centre gave a right royal welcome when His Royal Highness the Duke of York paid an official visit.

The Duke chatted with employees at the Manvers-based HEROtsc call centre where over 830 staff now work there for clients such as Vodafone, E-on and Office Depot.

The Royal visitor asked staff about how they introduced themselves, how many calls they made in a day - and expressed interest in the company’s ongoing recruitment and training programme to bring new jobs to the area.

He was invited to see the operation by HEROtsc chairman, Sunil Kant Munjal, during his Diamond Jubilee visit to India in May .

The South Yorkshire centre has been a part of the HEROtsc network since 2004 and employee numbers there have virtually trebled in the past eight years.
