SCHOOL pupils have been getting their hands dirty as part of a floral tribute to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

Pupils at Warmsworth Primary School braved the rain to sow a wildlife paradise in the grounds as part of the Royal Horticultural Society’s celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Society provided schools with a selection of native wildflower seeds so it creates rich plants to grow across the country during the summer in time for the jubilee celebrations.

The school are hoping the area will be in full bloom over the summer as they had to battle a downpour of rain when planting the seeds.

The project has been supported by the Charity Landlife who paid for the seeds to be distributed to schools and community groups across the country.
