Standing to attention were a group of Doncaster youngsters recently when they were visited by a very special guest.

Members of Thorne Sea Cadets invited along the district officer Lieutenant (Scc) Tammy Roberts RNR for an evening meeting.

Tammy was herself an ex-sea cadet from the age of 12 so was interested to see how the youth group had changed over the years.

A spokesman said: “There was a special inspection parade when she (Tammy) was piped in by one of the sea cadets before a short service by the sea cadet chaplain, Robert Newton.

“Also present were members of the HMS Gambia Association.”
