Flood warning lifted in Doncaster village

The EA has dropped the warning for the River Don at Thorpe in Balne, it has confirmed this evening after issuing the warning this morning.

A statement revealed: “This warning is no longer in force. River levels in the Don have peaked at Kirk Bramwith. Each high tide over the next few days will cause the river below Doncaster to rise temporarily but the overall pattern is for levels to decrease and property flooding is not expected.”

Two flood alerts remain in the borough, described as the Lower River Don catchment and the River Went catchment. The Lower River Don includes villages like Fishlake and Bentley, which were affect by the floods which hit Doncaster in November.

Flood alert status means flooding is possible - be prepared, according to the Environment Agency.
