farmers on the Isle of Axholme are gearing up for the annual Festival of the Plough later this month.
The 31st event, being held on land near High Burnham, Epworth, will be on Sunday, September 16.
It combines a vintage farm vehicle rally with a ploughing match and offers a unique blend of traditional agricultural activities, livestock displays, terrier racing, craft exhibitions, trade stands and traditional music.
The festival starts with the blessing of the ploughs by a local clergyman before the competition gets under way.
There will be sections for horse and tractor drawn ploughing.
Steam enthusiasts are also catered for with threshing and plough displays and a marquee full of miniature steam engines and fairground rides.
