Patients at Doncaster hospital make their own flowers for Poppy Appeal

Patients on a Doncaster rehabilitation ward have been keeping their fingers nimble for a good cause.

They have been knitting and crocheting poppies at Tickhill Road Hospital’s Hazel Ward for the Royal British Legion.

Under the guidance of activity co-ordinator Sue Wilkinson, handcrafted poppies have been on sale for £1 each, with proceeds going to the appeal

Sue, from Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), said: “We have used recycled materials and our patients have really enjoyed playing their part in helping to raise funds.”
