A DEARNE retail park that has so far created 70 plus jobs is set for phase two, and expansion.
The Onyx Retail Park, based on former colliery land at Manvers is also set to include a further 1,100 homes.
Due to what they say is a ready demand, developers Onward Holdings hope to speed up their project and have applied for planning permission to divide units, to accommodate a small bank, bookies, insurance business, food store, nursery, veterinary practice, outdoor leisure retailers or further restaurants.
New tenants with job vacancies could potentially be on-site by August 2012.
Onward Holdings believes the success of the site is down to its location and its proximity to such places as Wombwell’s Old Moor RSPB Reserve, Manvers Lake and parkland, waterfront golf course and the popular Trans Pennine trail. Company director Neil Storey said; “The interest and take up of units has been far higher than expected and those tenants that have moved have reported excellent trading, with one of the units reporting that their turnover has been more than triple what was expected”.
