Park Lodge Shooting School, based in East Yorkshire, has announced it is staging its first ever charity shoot for the agricultural industry on Tuesday June 10, 2014.

The event has been organised to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, two charities which Park Lodge’s owners, Tom and Sharon Bayston, have close associations with.

The event, in West Cowick, will comprise teams of four people shooting five flushes each consisting of 100 clay targets. In addition to the flushes, one of the highlights of the day will be the chance for competitors to shoot at the famous GNAT, a remote controlled plane which passes shooters at speeds in excess of 60mph and is frequently seen at Country Fairs and corporate hospitality events around the UK and overseas.

Tom Bayston, proprietor, Park Lodge Shooting School said: “We are delighted to be hosting this Charity Shoot and have already had lots of interest from people in the agricultural and related industries. It promises to be a fun day with lots going on and we hope that people will come along to support the shooters and help us raise money for these two charities.

“We have had personal experience of the amazing work done by both the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and we hope that we can raise a substantial amount of money to support both causes on the day.”

The charity shoot is open to all and the fee to enter a team of four is £280. As well as entering teams, there is also the opportunity for organisations to sponsor sections of the shoot and areas around the shooting Ground are available for stands/exhibits. Refreshments will be available in the clubhouse for both competitors and spectators on the day and parking at the venue is free.

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution is farming’s national charity and was founded in 1860 by John Joseph Mechi. It provides support for members of the farming community who are in need throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, is a member of Farming Help and works closely with other support agencies. In 2001 R.A.B.I. was nominated as one of five charities for HM The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Year.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life-saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. They fly seven days a week, 365 days a year, covering a vast landscape that not only includes major cities and motorways, but also rural and isolated locations. To keep providing this life saving service the charity needs to raise £9990 per day to keep both of Yorkshire’s Air Ambulances maintained and in the air.

Bob Smailes, Regional Fundraising Manager of Yorkshire Air Ambulance commented: “We’re really pleased that Park Lodge Shooting School has chosen Yorkshire Air Ambulance as one of the charities to support with this event and hope that lots of people go along and enjoy the day.”
