Doncaster Chamber has helped to deliver events to 14-24 year olds under the ‘Your Future’ scheme.

The team behind the scheme work with local businesses to help bridge the gap between the worlds of education and work, to highlight the options available to students and the skills needed to enter the workplace.

So far, around 500 national businesses have got involved.

Tina Slater, Doncaster Chamber Business and Education Manager said: “Doncaster Chamber employs three apprentices who are valuable members of the team.

“They help to give a young perspective on the projects that we are involved in with schools across Doncaster and yet are very mature in their work.

“They would highly advocate that the apprenticeship route was for them as they have experienced some exciting opportunities which they don’t think they would have had going down more traditional academic routes.”

The largest event was a careers fair held in February at the Doncaster Dome, where over 700 young people connected with over 60 businesses.
