Doncaster-born Louis Tomlinson and his One Direction band-mates have been rated as Britain’s five most influential tweeters, ahead of Prime Minister David Cameron and Labour leader Ed Miliband.
The list, compiled by PeerIndex, ranked Louis Tomlinson as the fourth most influential person on Twitter in the United Kingdom with a score of 98 out of 100.
Liam Payne took the top spot, followed by band-mates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik.
To compile the list, PeerIndex analysed more than 10 billion tweets from more than 150,000,000 active Twitter users and based ranking on influence rather than the number of followers a user has.
Doncaster North MP, Ed Miliband was ranked the 29th most influential tweeter, making him the second most influential politician on Twitter behind David Cameron who was placed at number seven on the list.
Family and friends of One Direction also dominated the top of the list with Louis Tomlinson’s girlfriend Eleanor Calder being rated as more influential than the Chancellor George Osborne.
