ahead of the real Olympics, young athletes at Bolton-on-Dearne held their own sporty celebration followed by a medal ceremony.

The traditional sports day at Heather Garth Primary School took on an Olympic theme this year, after being re-scheduled due to heavy rain.

Teacher Jayne Winnard said: “We’ve had an excellent term with a visits from Olympian Will Bayley, and the children made flags and torches and studied the history of the Olympics. Everyone enjoyed our own sports day that was combined with the summer fayre.”
