Residents attended a public exhibition at Epworth’s Imperial Hall to look at £1.7 million plans to improve the countryside around the Isle.

Humberhead Levels, which includes parts of Haxey, Westwoodside, Misterton and Keadby, has been designated as a Nature Improvement Area (NIA).

Led by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT), Government funding will help to improve 1,427 hectares of wetland.

YWT spokesman Joanna Richards said: “All feedback will help us as we go forward.”
