Isle residents are being urged to nominate someone who has made a difference in their community for a prestigious award.
Members of the public have until Sunday, September 22, to nominate people for North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Champion Award.
The awards, on November 28, will be the second awards after last year’s event was deemed to be a huge success that honoured people’s achievements and inspirational work.
You can nominate people by completing an online form on the council’s website, request a nomination form by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01724 297270.
Residents can also pick up a nomination form at any local link or library in North Lincolnshire.
The awards are split into four categories – volunteer, achievement, community and inspiration.
Across these, there will be 22 individual awards presented, each sponsored by a local business.
Councillor John Briggs, cabinet member for asset management, culture and housing, said: “It’s not long now until the 2013 Community Champion Awards and I’m sure it is going to be a wonderful evening. “Last year’s awards were a fantastic occasion and it was a great honour to be around such inspirational people.
“The awards are a great way of bringing the local community together in celebration of all the good things in North Lincolnshire.
“If you know someone that you believe deserves to win one of the awards, make sure you nominate them as there are only a few weeks left to put their name forward.”
