Plans to build a new estate of 39 houses in Mexborough have been submitted to council planners.
Developers Lovell Homes want to build the estate on land at derelict Kirby Street, off Park Road.
The plans – for 23 two-bedroom homes, 15 three-bedroomed houses and one four-bedroomed home – went to Doncaster Council before Christmas. The 0.76-hectare site backs onto Helena Street and the park. It had previously been built on, but all the houses have since been demolished.
In the application, Lovell’s agents, WYG Planning and Design, say most of the houses would be privately sold, though the estate would include seven “social rented” homes.
Residents living near the site are being consulted – but have only until Monday, (January 10) to respond to the council.
