New curate at St Mary’s

A DUTCHMAN will become the new curate of Wombwell, following his ordination on July 1.

Martijn Mugge is married with four children.

After a couple of years as a student living in Spain and Brazil, Martijn first came to England in 1995 to work for a national training company that helped unemployed people get back in to work.

He and his family moved to Oak Hill Theological College in 2009 to prepare for full-time ministry.

Martijn said: “After three years the whole family are now looking forward to joining the St Mary’s and St George’s congregations in the Parish of Wombwell where I will be a full-time curate.”

The newcomer lists his hobbies as enjoying the countryside, walking, cycling and camping, and he likes to spend time with his family.

Martijn will be ordained as deacon in to the Church of England by the Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, at a special service in Sheffield Cathedral.
