A budding social enterprise in Doncaster has appointed two managers.
Flourish Enterprises, based at Woodfield Park, Balby, includes St Catherine’s House, a venue for events, conferencing and office rental; a small garden centre and a Victorian Tea Room.
The social enterprise provides work and vocational opportunities to people with mental health needs and learning disabilities who need support to get back into education or employment. It is supported by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).
Now the social enterprise, which will be officially launched in a couple of weeks, has appointed two staff.
Wendy Parkes becomes the Operations Manager, while Paul Kendrew Jones has been appointed as Business Manager.
Wendy, of Doncaster, the former Assistant Catering Manager for RDaSH, and Paul, of Doncaster, who previously worked for a Sheffield-based print and procurement company, are now both in post.
Wendy said: “I’m looking forward to being part of the Flourish team. It’s an exciting opportunity to put Woodfield Park on the map for locals to enjoy while supporting people with mental health needs back into the workplace.
“It is fast becoming a great place to visit, whether to walk in the grounds, view the magnificent house, have a cuppa and a chat with a friend in our tea room or head to the garden centre.”
Paul said: “I am delighted to join the team of professionals and volunteers who are committed to making this exciting project beneficial to the Doncaster community. I believe that the facilities and events here offer the opportunity to provide excellent services to the public and valuable support for those seeking to gain skills and experience in the workplace.”
