health chiefs and Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton are urging residents to take advantage of free NHS health checks.

Anyone aged 40 to 74 who hasn’t been diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease is eligible for the Test Your Health programme.

The checks are held at locations across Doncaster – and NHS bosses are urging businesses and community venues to host further sessions.

Checks take about 15 minutes and calculate the chance of patients developing heart disease, diabetes and kidney disease.

Rosie said: “It’s an opportunity for people in Doncaster to stay healthy and protect themselves against long-term problems in the future.

“I would encourage everyone who is eligible to take up the opportunity to have a free health check and also urge businesses and community leaders to get in touch with the NHS to arrange further sessions. It is a quick and simple check to make sure that you don’t have any underlying problems which could impact on your health.”
