Motorists warned of delays

MOTORISTS are being warned that urgent works are likely to cause delays next week on one of Rotherham’s major routes.

Work will start at 9am on February 21, to repair a mains sewer on the Taylor’s roundabout at Parkgate, where the A633 Rotherham Road meets the A6123 Great Eastern Way.

Although the work has been programmed to be carried out during the half-term school holiday period when traffic flows are historically lower, it is still likely to cause considerable delays to motorists, who are advised to take alternative routes.

The work, which will repair a partially-collapsed sewer that floods during wet weather making the roundabout difficult to negotiate, is being carried out by Yorkshire Water and is expected to be completed by February 25.
