A MOTORIST who has labelled his road one of the worst crash sites in Thorne has had his car damaged again after a road diversion was installed.
Lee Swales of South End, Thorne, spoke to the Free Press in February after getting fed up of forking out to replace damage done to his car by cars using the street as a rat run route to Scunthorpe.
But after a nearby road was closed off last week for roadworks, he has seen even more traffic on the residential route.
Residents have seen dozens of wing mirrors knocked off, doors scratched and even cars written off by motorists trying to squeeze through the narrow strip of road.
He said: “Drivers keep trying to squeeze past when they come down this street and they’re scraping parked cars and damaging them in one way or another.
“There’s so many incidents down here that even if you’re stood on the path, you’re not safe. There’s kids and elderly people living down here and it is so dangerous but nobody seems to be helping us out.”
