HATFIELD Moors will be at the centre of a cancer charity’s fundraising efforts later this month.
The Hatfield Moors Charity walk and open day on Sunday September 18 will be raising cash for the CLIC Sargent charity, which supports children and young people with cancer.
Walkers will have the choice of one of three walks around the nature reserve and guided walks are available, too, led by Natural England representatives.
There will also be free children’s craft activities, pushchair access, and catering on site. There is no entry fee or minimum sponsorship but CLIC Sargent is asking people to raise or donate what they can and join in the fun.
The event is also an open day for Hatfield Moors, and aims to encourage people to make use of the attraction all year round.
Jo Warmington, community fundraising manager at CLIC Sargent, said: “CLIC Sargent is currently supporting 328 children and young people with cancer in Yorkshire. We rely almost entirely on voluntary donations, so fundraising events like this charity walk are vital to funding our services. We want as many people as possible to come down on the day and join in on a walk.”
