A month-long 'sex festival' which includes a musical about 'the history of the vibrator' has begun in Sheffield.

The Theatre Delicatessen at The Moor is presenting ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’ - a four-week long festival packed with talks, theatre productions, cabaret nights and workshops.
Organisers say they hope the event, which launched yesterday and runs until April 1, aims to present a 'clear, educational awareness of the taboo topic of sex'.
Sarah Sharp, programmer and producer at Theatre Delicatessen, said: "From musicals to film screenings, from discussions to cabaret, we've got an incredibly exciting line up that explores and celebrates sexuality, gender and identity in all its dark and deep glory."

A racy event entitled 'Happy Birthday Clitoris!' is described as a party where visitors can wear party hats and enjoy 'edible clit treats'. It is being held on March 21 from 6pm to 9pm.

Meanwhile, a musical called 'Buzz', which promises to take the audience on a 'musical history of the vibrator', will be presented between March 23 and 25 at 7.30pm.

Other productions include 'Alphabet' which 'explores modern masculinity through a patchwork of romcoms, snapchats and gangbangs' today from 8.30pm.

The Vagina Monologues show is being held on International Women's Day on March 8 from 7.30pm and is billed as celebrating 'female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery'. The celebrations will continue at SheFest Saturday on March 11 with a range of public performances, stalls and activities along The Moor from 11am to 4pm.

Event organisers received £14, 890 from Arts Council England to host the festival.
