Members tried out Spring arranging

APPROXIMATELY half of the members of Epworth and District Flower Club met on April 23 to watch Toni Gravel give a short workshop demonstration after which members tried their own hands to create a similar Spring arrangement.

Toni used a variety of foliage creating an interesting base with different textures and height into which she inserted her flowers.

She used pink tulips which she made curve and fixed into position with wire, and roses, gerbera, orchids and larkspur. The result was very visually pleasing and looked so easily achieved.

Members created a variety of differing arrangements with some help and advice from Toni.

There was a happy working buzz to be heard throughout the evening and it was enjoyed by all.

Carolyn Drury informed the group of her progress in planning the programme for the next two years but reiterated that we will still be short of a Chairman as she cannot hold two offices. Members are asked to consider if they feel they could take on one of the roles.

The June meeting will be on Monday 11, at 7.30pm in the Stephen Jones Community Hall, Haxey.

The demonstrator will be Liz Bishop whose demonstration is entitled “Magic of the East”.
