A PUBLIC meeting is being held tonight to discuss plans to axe a fore crew in a Doncaster town.
Residents will have the chance to quiz fire chiefs over the plans which could see a retained crew in Edlington ditched as part of cost-cutting measures.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has announced a shake-up of its services as it attempts to address a funding shortfall from the Government which is expected to reach £10 million by 2015.
South Yorkshire Fire Authority has started a 14-week public consultation on the proposals.
The meeting will take place at Edlington Victoria Primary School in Victoria Road from 6pm.
