MAYOR of Doncaster Peter Davies has announced a reshuffle of his cabinet.
Coun Cynthia Ransome will now hold the post of Deputy Mayor, taking over from Coun Patricia Schofield who has held the position for three years.
Coun Schofield will remain in the Cabinet and continue with her current portfolio of Adult Social Care and Health.
Mr Davies said: “I would like to thank Coun Schofield for all her support and hard work as my Deputy Mayor for the past three years. The Health portfolio is an extremely important one, as we are integrating public health services within the council, and Coun Schofield will continue to remain focussed on this task ahead. The time feels right to refresh my Cabinet and I look forward to working with Councillor Ransome in the future.”
The Mayor has also recruited a new political assistant, Marc Bratcher, who will assist in the development, implementation and communication of policy.
Mr Davies said: “He will be a help not only to me, but to the town in general, and I look forward to introducing him to the people of Doncaster shortly.”
Coun Ransome will continue to manage the same portfolio of Communities, Street Scene, Environment Protection and Resource Recovery (Waste Management and Recycling).
