Matthew is engineering his own success

A DONCASTER College student has been rewarded for an outstanding engineering project.

Matthew Smith, 28, produced a software package to be used by electrical engineers which received the Polypipe Sponsored Award 2012.

It was produce to enable electrical engineers to get instant results from design calculations to speed up the processs and was given the title ‘Outstanding Engineering Project’.

Matthew received £500 for the project.

His tutor, Ray Hobson said: “Matthew has been a student with us for five years. He started on the part-time HNC course and moved on to the HND conversion. Finally, his good grades allowed him to study the top-up degree. He was awarded a first-class honours degree which he thoroughly deserved.”
