DONCASTER Market is in the running to be crowned ‘Britain’s Best’ for the third year running.

People voted the borough’s market to be Britain’s Favourite Market twice in 2011 and 2012.

The prestigious prize was awarded by the National Association of British Market Authorities following an online public vote.

Voting has opened for 2013’s prize and can be done by visiting http://www.nabma.com/vote/

People are asked to fill in the grey box and click ‘vote’.

Doncaster mayor Peter Davies said: “We know Doncaster Market is the best and it’s time to let everyone else know by voting for Doncaster.

“Our historic markets continue to attract thousands of shoppers from far and wide who come for the diverse range of stalls selling high quality, excellent value goods and foods.

“The thriving markets are a key part of our plan to attract more visitors and day trippers into the borough and it is vital we invest in them.”

With over 400 stalls on site, Doncaster Market is amongst the largest in the UK, and offers shoppers a range of goods including award-winning food and drink, crafts, home furnishings and garden equipment.
