Police believe the man caught on CCTV may be responsible for a theft from a filling station.

Officers would like to speak to him in connection with a theft at Shell Wentworth Park, Maple Road, Pilley, Barnsley.

It is believed that on Saturday, July 30, at around 10.30am, he drove a black VW Golf motor vehicle into the service station and put £76 of diesel in the vehicle.

It is thought he then proceeded into the sales area, picked up a canned drink and, whilst being on the phone, placed a small amount of change on the counter and said he would be returning with his credit card as he had left it in the car.

But he jumped back into the drivers seat and drove away without paying for the fuel.

He is white, in his mid 20’s with short cut dark hair and of a stocky build. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and jogging bottoms
