Man seriously injured in holiday fall

A POPULAR Doncaster man has suffered serious head injuries in a horror fall while on holiday.

Taran Wiseman is receiving treatment in a Turkish hospital following the incident.

His parents have flown out to be at his bedside in Turkey following the fall in which Mr Wiseman, of Westminster Crescent, Intake, is thought to have plunged from a balcony.

He may have to remain in hospital for several weeks before he is fit enough to fly home, friends have said. A Facebook site to raise money for Mr Wiseman’s ongoing care has been set up and has already attracted over 114 members.An explanation on the site states: “Taran Wiseman is still currently being treated for serious head injuries in a hospital in Turkey.

His injuries were sustained in a serious accident & he may need to be kept out there for over a month. Any donations will directly help Tarans recovery.”

Comments posted on the Facebook group from well wishers include.

Nicola McBurnie added: “Taran u was always a strong guy at school, keep strong and keep fighting.”

A Spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed a British national had been hospitalised in Turkey on June 23.

He added: “We are consulting with hospital staff and have spoken with his family to offer assistance.”

Mr Wiseman, who is in his mid 20s, is thought to have studied at Lincoln University and was a member of Doncaster’s Little Theatre group for about three years.

Kevin Spence Chairman of the Little Theatre Guild of Great Britain who acted with and directed Mr Wiseman said: “All of his friends at the theatre were absolutely devastated when they found out.

“We are all thinking of him and hoping he will make a full recovery.

“I worked with Taran on a few occasions and he is a very promising young actor and a genuinely lovely person.

“The last time I spoke to him he was talking about the possibility of moving to Australia.”

Mr Wiseman is had performed in productions including Cottonmouth and Twelfth Night.

He is believed to have been working as telecoms engineer.
