Wheatley Hall Road and Barnby Dun Road are set to be closed from tomorrow night to allow essential repair works to be carried out.

Doncaster Council is to carry out improvement works at Clay Lane Roundabout - the junction of the A630 Wheatley Hall Road and Barnby Dun Road near Sandall Park.

This will mean closing the roundabout while the work takes place.

At the same time as making amendments to the roundabout, the council will undertake essential carriageway maintenance work.

To do this safely a full road closure will be necessary and to minimise disruption the closure will be at night.

This will take place between 7pm and 6am from Monday 19 January. Closures are booked for a up to two weeks but it is anticipated that it will only be necessary for around five nights.

A signed diversion route will be in place via Trafford Way, Carr House Road, Leger Way and Thorne Road A18.

Access to businesses will be maintained where possible although it may be necessary to use a different route to the norm. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Peter Dale, Director of Regeneration and Environment, said: “These are essential works and we apologise for any inconvenience. I would like to thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
Preparatory work on the roundabout has been taking place over recent weeks.
