Doncaster pop star Louis Tomlinson has sent flowers and messages of condolence to five local teenagers killed in an horrific car crash.

The One Direction idol is understood to have sent a bouquet to friends of Blake Cairns, Bartosz Bortniczak, Megan Storey, Jordanna Goodwin and Arpad Kore who all died at the weekend after the car they were all in was involved in a collision on the A630 near Conisbrough.

In a photo circulated in Facebook and Twitter, the star’s message on a card attached to the flowers read: “Really saddened to hear some sad news from my home town. With love from Louis, One Direction and mum Johannah.”

The flowers are thought to have been delivered to Danum Academy, the school attended by all five.

Books of condolence for the five are due to open in Doncaster today at both the Mansion House and Doncaster Minster.
