Young artists are flowering

BOLTON kids are blooming brilliant at art!

That’s the conclusion of Barnsley in Bloom judges, who chose two Bolton entries among this year’s poster winners for the competition.

Lacewood Primary School pupil Ronan Taylor, 10, was the outright winner, with fellow pupil Ala Gajewska as a runner-up along with Ramandeep Basra of Brierley C of E Primary School.

The winning children and their schools will be awarded prizes by the mayor and mayoress of Barnsley later in the year and their posters will be displayed during July throughout the centre of Barnsley.

Over 400 children entered the competition and all the winners will receive vouchers to spend at Barnsley markets.
