Woman cyclist suffers serious injuries in Branton collision

A 59-year-old female cyclist has been seriously injured following a collision in Branton.

At around 10.40am on Thursday April 10, it is believed that the cyclist was in collision with a car in Doncaster Road, Branton.

The car, which officers believe may be a silver Vauxhall Astra from 2004-2009, failed to stop at the scene. The cyclist was travelling from Branton towards Auckley in the 40mph zone.

The cyclist was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are described as serious.

Police are seeking to trace the vehicle and any witnesses to the collision. Please call 101 quoting incident number 326 of 10 April 2014.
