Doncaster’s burgeoning Yorkshire Wildlife Park is in the running to be named as the county’s best tourist attraction.
The Branton park, which last week welcomed its latest addition in the shape of Victor the polar bear, is in the running to be named Yorkshire’s Most Magnificent Attraction in a vote organised by a tourism organisation.
Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions launched the poll on July 8, calling on the public to vote for who they think should win the top spot for 2014.
With only a few days left to vote, the public have until September 1 to get their votes in, with the overall winner being announced on September 16.
All votes will be entered into a free prize draw to win a family break at the Holiday Inn Express in Leeds. More than 9,000 people have voted so far, almost double the total amount of votes collected in 2013. Others in the running for the prize include the Jorvik Viking Centre, Lightwater Valley, Xscape and The Deep.
Cannon Hall Farm near Barnsley is the only other South Yorkshire attraction in the running. To vote visit www.yorkshireattractions.org/vote
